Lace bralettes have quickly become one of my go-tos for the summer season. I love how easy they are to just throw on and go. No back pain, no worrying about fit. I just throw a bralette on, merchandise it up (as Carrie B. would say), and head out the door! Here are a few of my favorite practical & realistic ways to make lace bralettes work this summer:
Look #1: The Classic Jeans & Tee
One of my favorite ways to wear a lace bralette is under a classic, relaxed t-shirt with just a peek-a-boo effect in the back. I love t-shirts like this that are open back, but I rarely wore them until I opened my eyes to the world of bralettes. Let me just throw it out there: I am the type of girl who needs a bra. Although my husband would love it if I went commando up top in public (sorry Dad, TMI), that just ain’t my style and I can’t make it work. Bralettes save me in that department. Wearing a bralette like this under an open back top or dress is an easy way to still wear a bra without the being too risque or showing that dreaded clasp in the back.
This tank from Obey Clothing neeeeds something like this underneath it. I love wearing it with a bralette underneath for that sort of “swimsuit cover up” look. And high waisted shorts don’t hurt neitha.
Look #2: Just a Hint of Lace
I love to wear a lace bralette for tops that are just a little too low cut. It adds a little hint of lace that looks like it’s intended to be there, not like you’re doing the walk of shame. This is the walk of game, baby. (how corny is that?)
Look #3: The Crop Top
I love to wear a lace bralette as a crop top! I know California has some super hot days ahead of us, so it’s comforting to know that I can get away with this look without it seeming like I’m out and about in my undies. Especially loving this high-neckline bralette from VS, a good lace bralette has become an effortless crop top replacement for me.
What do you think of bralettes? What are some of your favorite ways to wear them?
Thanks for hanging out! xo
