Pregnancy Progression

These biweekly photos are one of my favorite ways to document a pregnancy progression.

It’s crazy to think that this was a project we started early in my 2nd pregnancy, taking over 7 months to complete! There were many days that were cloudy, or that I felt off physically because #preggoproblems and would rather do anything but take a photo. But I’m so grateful that we saw this commitment through to the end for the final product to come to life – ahem, quite literally!

I love looking at these photos to see how Arlo grew in my tummy during that time. Fun Fact: we took the week 39 photo (the last one of me pregnant) the day I went into labor. It was just hours before heading to the hospital to be exact! (You can read Arlo’s full birth story here – this wasn’t even the beginning of the craziness!) I was determined to get the photo and to complete this pregnancy progression collage, even through contractions. Check out the video below for the full play by play!

If you want to make a progression collage of your own, I recommend a few things:

  1. Pick an outfit (in my case this comfy dress) that has stretch and will be comfy throughout pregnancy. Using the same outfit for each photo helps keep the focus on that bump!
  2. Go for a neutral background – it’s all about that baby!
  3. Stick with it – like I said I’m so grateful I pushed through those cranky days to get the end result.
  4. Use a collage app or website to put it all together and make the magic happen! I used PicMonkey to create the collage and BabyPics for the milestone markers, but Canva has a lot of great options to do both too.

I’d love to see your progression collages! Send them to me here or be sure to tag me when you post!
