Empties: My Beauty Favorites I Continue to Use Up

In today’s world, we focus a lot on what’s new and what we’re adding to our material possessions. But what about what we’re using up? What about what’s NOT going to waste? There are some products that I continue to re-purchase over and over (as evidenced by the photo above), so in today’s post, I’m sharing those with you! This post is all about my beauty favorites, and I’m sharing details to back up my picks. Keep reading to check out all of my empties and favorite beauty products I continue to use up.

First up, the Tan-Luxe gradual self tanners.

There are two different gradual self-tanners that I clearly go through like crazy: The Tan-Luxe The Butter Illuminating Tanning Butter is a lotion-like moisturizer that gives a super deep tan and is easy to apply. I love it! For a lighter, more silky feel, the Tan-Luxe The Gradual Illuminating Gradual Tan Lotion will do the trick. Both give a wonderful deep tan, and I can’t get enough of the convenient application.

I also love the Tan-Luxe The Face self-tan drops.

I mix some of this bad boy in with my daily face moisturizer for a natural glowy look. I don’t use this every day, but it’s great for giving my face some color (especially on no-makeup days!). During the winter months when we spend less time outside, this is one of my favorite beauty products to give me that endless summer glow.

Loving Tan used to be my go-to self tanner – as you can see below.

This is a cult classic that gives such a deep, olive-hued tone. I don’t always feel like I have the time to do the whole mousse process, but when I do this one is a favorite of mine. It’s a best-seller for a reason!

Now, let’s talk skincare.

This Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum feels so good on my skin! I truly feel like it helped brighten my complexion and even out my skin tone. It’s a little pricey, but I liked it enough to repurchase.

For an exfoliating facial cleanse, the Deep Cleanse by Tatcha is one of my top picks. I love the slight exfoliation it provides with a lovely scent and overall gentle feel. It gives a great deep clean without being too touch on my sensitive skin!

Speaking of lovely scents, the Rose line by Fresh is just oh-so-pretty. I used up all of the Rose Floral Toner – it felts refreshing for my skin without being too harsh. This Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream has also become one of my favorite beauty products for its not-too-thick and not-too-watery formula. It mixes perfectly with the Tan-Luxe drops (above) too!

Of course, I have to mention a couple of my Tula favorites! Tula will find its way into any beauty product review I share. The Purifying Face Cleanser is a fabulous everyday cleanser that is gentle, helps remove any lingering makeup, and overall smooths out my skin texture. I have a brand new one of these in my bathroom now!

I use the Tula Face Filter Blurring & Moisturizing Primer to the last drop every time! I have actually gone through multiple bottles and had them looking just as empty as the one pictured below. You can read more about my take on this primer in my Makeup Routine post. It’s essential for me! Don’t forget you can always use my code OLIVIAZAPO to save at Tula.

And this wouldn’t be a favorite beauty product review without covering hair products!

The MoroccanOil Light treatment oil is one that I regularly have stocked on my (bathroom) shelves. It hydrates my hair and helps keep my ends from drying out. I use it on my damp hair every time I wash it, but it’s great for touch-ups to keep my hair maintained between washes too.

And last but not least, my holy grail Aveda.

Aveda is one of those companies that I will use for the rest of my life. And I’m not even being dramatic! This shampoo and conditioner combo has been my must-have for the last 10+ years, and I seriously notice such a difference in the feel of my hair without it. The Color Conserve shampoo has a great lather for a deep clean while protecting my color-treated locks. In addition, the Damage Remedy conditioner helps protect my hair against heat and dye. It has the most smooth and silky finish! I also love the Damage Remedy Daily Leave-In conditioner and split end repair (pictured below). All of these products are ALWAYS on rotation in my house!

While I’m gushing about Aveda, I’ll round us out by sharing my endless use of the Aveda Brilliant Damage Control. This detangling spray helps protect against heat while also making my unruly strands that much easier to comb through post-wash. Clearly, I continue to use it up!
